Rotary hosts World Affairs Conferences across the United States for high school students who have the qualifications and interest in participating in a high-level discussion of a current topic of world interest.  This year, on March 21, 2014, students from several area high schools will assemble at Purdue University Calumet for a day-long discussion regarding “The Storm over Climate Change—Policy and Politics”.

The Crown Point Rotary Club will sponsor Katie Dillon and Tobey Schmidt to represent Crown Point High School. After keynote speeches, a panel of local and area experts will speak to what government regulation and free-market solutions might mean to those of us who live in Northwest Indiana.  Students will discuss and react to what the keynote speakers and panelists had to say, will compose a report of their thoughts and conclusions and select a spokesperson to share their conclusions to the entire assembly.
